Meet the people behind the program...

Co-Owners/Director

SwimAmerica Family Swim School, Inc. is owned by Rick and Lori Klatt. Rick Klatt, was a world record holder swimmer and began operating the SwimAmerica program in Fresno in 1987 in conjunction with his year round USS swim team.  Rick was a member of the original committee of coaches who designed the SwimAmerica program for the American Swimming Coaches Association. Rick is currently the Director of Aquatics for Central Unified School District and the Head Coach of the Fresno Dolphins Swim Team. Lori Klatt has been coaching swimming and teaching lessons since 1988 when her niece drown at age 2 1/2 and she became involved with SwimAmerica National and The American Swimming Coaches Association in Fort Lauderdale Florida. Lori is also the National Marketing Director for ASCA and is primarily responsible for all ASCA sponsorship advertising services, working closely all year long with the commercial side of swimming. Lori is married to Rick Klatt and has been the director of SwimAmerica Family Swim School in the Fresno, Clovis area since 1996.  Klatt's SwimAmerica Swim School currently teaches thousands of swimmers per year at the Central Aquatics Complex and at The Break The Barriers facility.  Rick and Lori will celebrate 20 years here in Fresno by expanding to a third indoor location at Willow and Nees.  The new center will include two indoor pools and a facility designed with you in mind!  While she enjoys working with swimmers of all levels, she stresses the importance of learning to swim early and treasures the opportunity to teach young children to happily love swimming!

Supervisors

During our swimming lessons there is a supervisor on the pool deck to "graduate" students at anytime they advance during their lessons.  The supervisor ensures that swim lessons run smoothly and that children are progressing and loving to swim!  It is also the supervisor's role to act as a liaison between the swimming  coaches and the parents of the swimmers within the classes. Therefore if you have any questions regarding your child's progress, please do not hesitate to speak to one of our supervisory team. We are here to help!

Coaches

SwimAmerica employs highly skilled and professional instructors. At SwimAmerica we call all our instructors coaches because they have all received American Swimming Coaches Association Level 1 Certification status. Many of our coaches not only teach swimming, but are sports coaches, school teachers and parents as well. They possess the wonderful ability to teach a life-saving skill while making it fun, too! At SwimAmerica, swimmers have fun, parents see results, and coaches get to do what they love. Kids LOVE to learn at SwimAmerica!
