Parent & Child Classes

Our parent and child classes are a great way to get your young one active and teach him or her the fundamentals of swimming and water safety.

These classes teach important safety skills and water enjoyment through the use of songs and engaging activities. Learn more information about each of our classes below.

Infant/Toddler

Ages 6 months - 35 months
30-minute classes
6 babies (with adults) per class maximum

  • Introductory Level 13 months to 35 months
This class is for children who have never taken formal classes and need to learn beginning skills such as breath-holding, bubbles, kicking and comfortable submersions. They will start in this class and then be moved to the class appropriate for their age when they are familiar with the above skills. (Babies 6 months to 12 months old will start in the Level 1 Angel Fish class)
  • Level 1 Angel Fish 6 months to 12 months
  • Level 2 Star Fish 13 months to 18 months
  • Level 3 Clown Fish 19 months to 24 months
  • Level 4 Gold Fish 25 months to 35 months
Infant/Toddler classes follow the same goals as SwimAmerica School-Age Levels 1-4 but substitute age-appropriate activities, making it possible to master many of the basic swim skills before 36 months of age. The babies love the indoor swim environment with warm 90 degree pools and plenty of teaching toys and it is a great bonding time for parent and child.

Baby'N'Me

Ages 9 months - 35 months
30-minute classes
10 babies (with adults) per class maximum

This is a pre-swimming class with parent participation! Perfect for an apprehensive child. This class will encourage physical development of coordination, mental development of talking skills through simple action songs and emotional development through group games.

Parent and child work together with the instructors to learn skills including back floats, submersions (not forced) and rollover breathing through songs and games in a fun, family environment with expert instruction. You'll be amazed at how comfortable your child can be in water at this age.
